If the 09:23:18 log entry from process 28436 is indeed the last log entry
from this process at log level 5, then it somewhere within SpamAssassin
processing that the child process indeed crashes. It can be due to Perl itself
crashing (e.g. out of resources like memory, perhaps while evaluating a
clumsily written regexp), or it could be in one of the external shared
libraries used by one of the Perl modules.

Turning on also the $sa_debug=1 and capturing stderr/stdout of the process
(like in amavisd debug-sa >x.log 2>&1) may narrow down the action within
SA that is the last attempted before the crash.

Unrelated, but you should make pax(1) utility available for security reasons:
