  I can't answer for RH9, but upgrading from SuSE 9.1 -> 9.2 (which involves
the upgrade of Perl too) did force me to go back and reinstall any perl
stuff that I had installed from CPAN. I had lots of things broken until I
tracked down all of the modules... I suspect you will face a similar
situation for anything that wasn't installed via RPM.
