Core Lists

The IAMS Access Lists system has four built-in lists that may not be deleted or edited. These lists are:

internet
This is the default list that all users will fall into unless they are explicitly members of another list.
non-internet
Any members of this list will have no proxy access at all.
unrestricted
Any members of this list will have total, unrestricted access to the proxy.
restricted
A "restricted users" list. Any members of this list will only be permitted to access ALLOW rules on this list. All other requests are rejected.

These four access lists are usually enough for most organizations.

To edit a list, click on its name. From the main page you can see how many users, if applicable, are members of the list.

You may only edit certain attributes of the core lists, since they are built-in objects that have special meaning in the ACL checking subsystem. Below is a summary of what is editable in these core lists:

List Name
Edit Rules? Edit Memberships? Enable/Disable?
internet Yes No Yes
non-internet No Yes Yes
unrestricted No Yes Yes
restricted Yes Yes Yes
