Mail Server Configuration
Here you have the option to set up various system-wide options.
- Send outgoing mail via host
- The Deliver directly option
will forward any outgoing mail not destined for users of your system
directly to the given host.
If the mail server is behind a firewall or proxy server to the outside
world, you will need to tell the mail server where to forward non-local
mail. You can enter in a hostname or IP address here.
- Allow Incoming Mail
- By default (Enabled), the mail server can both
send and receive mail. If this is set to Disabled, the machine
will not be able to receive mail (but will still be able to send mail).
- Enable Procmail
- procmail is a mail preprocessor. When a message
comes into the machine, it is passed to procmail which then looks
for a file called ".procmailrc" in the
recipients home directory. This file can contain "filters"
to file the message into mailboxes.
Procmail is enabled by default. If you would like it disabled, you
can do so here.
