The Queue Maintenance section allows monitoring of messages in the mail queue, flushing and deleting individual messages, and flushing the entire queue. Messages are first placed in the Pre Filter queue. The Pre Filter queue contains messages waiting to be scanned by the spam/virus filter. When a message is scanned by the filter, it is moved to the Post Filter queue. Having a large number of messages in the Pre Filter queue could mean that there is a problem in the spam/virus scanner.
