To upload a new certificate, click the Upload Remote Certificate
link.
You may want to upload a certificate from one Guardian Digital VPN
Server to another. There are two different formats: PKCS#12 and PEM-encoded.
PKCS#12 is a single file which contains several authentication credentials.
For example, one PKCS#12 file may contain an X.509 certificate, a
private RSA key, and a CA certificate. This format is commonly used
to import credentials into a Windows cleitn.
PEM encoding is the most portable of the formats. In this format each
file contains a credential. Thjere will be one file for the X.509
certificate and one file for the private RSA key.
- Upload PKCS#12
- PKCS#12 is a standard for key exchange. It is a
single file which contains a CA certificate and a matching certificate/key
pair. If you would like to upload a PKCS#12 file then select the
file from your local computer, enter a password if you need one, and
click "Proceed with Upload."
- Upload Certificate and Key
- This option lets you upload two separate
files: a PEM-encoded X.509 certificate and a PEM-encoded, non-encrypted
RSA private key. Select the files from your local disk and click "Proceed
with Upload."
If the uploaded files are not valid or the PKCS#12 password is wrong,
you will receive an error message. If the credentials are successfully
imported they will appear in the "Remote Certificates"
list.
