Creating a Filter

  1. After configuring the Tunnel Endpoint the Windows XP Security Policy window will gain focus again. From this menu select the Add button.
  2. The New Rule Properties window will be displayed. From this menu select Add again.

  3. The Name and Description must now be filled in.

    Name
    VPN Connection 2
    Description
    Traffic coming from the Guardian Digital VPN Network to the Windows XP Network.
  4. Once the fields have been completed click Add and the Filter Properties menu will appear.

  5. Fill in the fields with the following information:

    Source Address
    Select A Specific IP Subnet.
    IP Subnet
    Enter address of the network, not the IP address, routed by the Windows XP server.
    Destination Address
    Enter the address of the network routed by the Guardian Digital VPN.
    Mirrored
    Remove the check, if present.
  6. Click the Description tab and enter 'Filter from the Guardian Digital VPN Network to the Windows XP Network.

  7. Once the information has been filled in click the Description tab and enter in to the Description entry box ``Filter from the Guardian Digital VPN Network to the Windows XP Network''.
  8. Once this is entered in click OK and then click OK again.
  9. From the IP Filter Lists list, choose the filter that was just created ``Traffic coming from the Guardian Digital VPN Network to the Windows XP Network''.
