The Routing and Remote Access Service is disabled in Windows
XP by default.
- The service must be first be enabled.
- To enable this service from the Start Menu select Administrative
Tools and then Services.
- From the Services window double click the Routing and
Remote Access service listed under the Name column.
- From the Properties screen change the Startup type to
Automatic and click Apply. Choosing Automatic
here starts the service at boot time.
- The screen will refresh and the option to Start the service
will be selectable. Click Start.
- Once the services starts click OK and close the Services window.
