Verifying Connection Security

Once everything has been configured the connection from the Windows machine to the Guardian Digital VPN should be tested. Use the following steps below to test the connection:

1. Locate the SafeNET icon in the Windows system tray and select Connection Monitor.
2. From the Windows Start Menu, select Run and type:

   ping VPN_SERVER_IP_ADDRESS

3. for example:

   ping 192.168.1.7

4. If the connection was properly configured you will see it listed in the Connection Monitor.
5. By watching the Connection Monitor you should be able to verify the secure connection.
6. Continue to Creating a Road-Warrior-To-Network Connection to setup the connection to the network(s) behind the Guardian Digital VPN gateway.
