Creating a Road Warrior-to-Network Connection

Once the connection between the Windows client and the Guardian Digital VPN has been verified, the VPN client can be configured to connect to a network routed by the VPN gateway. This allows access to network resources behind the Guardian Digital VPN gateway.

  1. Load the Security Policy Editor from the Start Menu, Programs, SoftRemoteLT, Security Policy Editor.
  2. From the Security Policy Editor highlight the name of the connection created earlier and select Edit and then Add a new Connection. Rename the connection to something appropriate.
  3. Under Connection Security,select Secure.
  4. Confirm Only Connect Manually is not checked.
  5. Under Remote Party Identity and Addressing, set ID Type to IP Subnet and enter the Subnet and Mask that refer to the network connected to the Guardian Digital VPN.

    1. From the Protocol pull-down menu select All.
    2. Enable Connect Using, and select from the pull-down menu Secure Gateway Tunnel.
    3. For ID Type select Distinguished Name
    4. Click the Edit Name... button and using the information from the certificate created earlier fill out the fields.
    5. Using the pull-down menu found at the far right of ID Type, select Gateway IP Address then enter the IP Address of the Guardian Digital VPN server in the field below.

  6. Follow steps 10 through 20 above in Section [*] Creating a Road Warrior-to-Gateway Connection on page [*] to complete the connection setup.
  7. If there are additional networks behind the Guardian Digital VPN gateway, repeat the steps in this section for each additional network.
