Overview

This module does not introduce any of its own functionality. Rather, it is a convenient screen which acts as the 'glue' of the entire WebShare Manager user interface. Notes, News, ToDo items, and Calendar-set events which are relevant that day, and which that particular user has the right to see, all appear in hypertext form on this page. Additionally, users can see the Image of the Day and attendant text there.

To set a new Image of the Day, click Overview -> Image of the Day Management (IoTD) from the navigation menu. This option gives a list of current IotDs, with the ability (given permission) to edit and delete them. As usual, the edit screen is the same as the Upload New screen, except that the fields are completed.

To create a new Image of the Day, click the Upload a New Image of the Day link. This screen then appears:

The fields are as follows:

Image Title
This appears in large, header lettering in the Overview screen
Image Filename
This is the location of the image on the local file system. A browse button is used to help find it.
Description
This is the text that accompanies the image. It appears to the right of the image on the Overview page.
Link to a Web Page
This option field allows the image to be a hyperlink to the specified URL.
Active Image
In the absence of a default image, the IotD is chosen randomly. This field determines if this image can be so chosen.
Groups to View This:
It is necessary to assign a group that gets this IotD. For this reason, among others, it is advisable to have a group of all users.
Default?
This field determines if this IotD is the default for the relevant group. Otherwise the IotD is chosen randomly from the set of Active Images.
